J/BOTW

Joy of the Week:  I finally got my alien registration card!!!  That means I will have a cell phone and a bank account!

Bummer of the Week: Now I can't find it after having it for only one day.  No phone or bank account yet.

And here's a picture of my most despised Korean dish yet.  It is a cold soup with brown seaweed and onions in a vinegary broth. Don't say I didn't warn you.

  1. Cold soup? Wow...so what does it say on the side of the bowl? :p
Looks like you are getting more comfortable over in Korea and making lots of friends. I love seeing all the pictures, I'll try to check out your blog more often, but this practicum thing is killing me :(
How are you liking your teaching job?

  2. is it kinda like a cold spinach soup...I enjoy vinegar-y things.... must be interesting to try new, different foods....learning to cook up some of their foods for Von and I ???? Re population being primarily Korean; are you/caucasians in general, welcomed and well-received ...sounds to me that some indigenous teachers there are in need of
mandated cultural "sensitivity" training, for true. Von is your-------fill in blank for me... love, jodie

  4. wonder what advantage those curved-up roof corners afford.....or why? as superstition
there may propose ,..that such roof design is to keep "bad chi....spirits out" or maybe it is to designate a shaman /priest healer lives there.......or...or....or
